Industria Envasadora de Querétaro

Industria Envasadora de Queretaro was the first company of its kind in Mexico. It is the result of the initiative that Mr. Roberto Ruiz Obregón took, when in 1979 had the idea to establish an ambitious project: to set up a canned soda company.

The project launch faced several setbacks, but nonetheless this four bottling companies joined him, having as a result:

Grupos Embotelladores

  • AZTECA GROUP: Leon, Irapuato, Zamora, Apatzingan, Lazaro Cardenas and Celaya.
  • IMPULSA GROUP: Puebla, Veracruz, Jalapa and Apizaco.
  • VISA GROUP: Mexico City, State of Mexico, Minatitlan, Villahermosa, San Cristobal de las Casas, Oaxaca and Tuxtla Gutierrez (currently FEMSA group).

For about 11 years, our company was located at the intersection of Allende and Av. Universidad relying on a single production line, however, the steady growth of the city as well as our company’s, caused the inoperability of cargo units and affected our neighboring streets.

In 1991, the remodeling of our new facilities began and by May 11, 1992 we finally moved, this is where we are located currently; at that time with had three production lines.

By 1993 the company suffered some structural changes, for instance, we invited Coca-Cola Mexico, to become partners our partners, thus the following groups remained as follows:

Socios de Nuestra Empresa

  • Coca Cola Femsa.
  • CIMSA.
  • Inmoviliaria La Victoria.
  • Bepensa Bebidas.
  • Embotelladora del Nayar.
  • Corporación del Fuerte.
  • Embotelladoras ARCA.
  • Grupo Yoli.
  • Bebidas Refrescantes de Nogales.
  • Grupo Continental.
  • Grupo Tampico.
  • Corporación RICA.
  • Embotelladora de Colima.

13 bottling companies currently comprise our partners, some of them even merged.

Due to the company’s constant growth, we had to make several changes and by 1998, the set-up of our fourth production line started, it launched on February 16, 1999. By January 2005 we launched our fifth line, and in 2007 our sixth, which has allowed us to increase our capacity to 5 million 500 thousand boxes (24 cans each) per month (this amount includes the presentation of 16 oz., 12 oz., 10.5 oz. and 8 oz.).

In July 2004 the product portfolio grew as well, in order to suit demand we launched 3 production lines for Pouch, so we “cut the ribbon” in our new hall. These production lines have a capacity of 350,000 boxes of 24 units per month both for soda or Minute Maid juices.

In 2005, we launched our fifth production line, which is used to package products through a heating processes, and in 2007 our sixth production line became operational.
